Infection Surveillance
Minimum requirements to be met by at least one intensive care unit (ICU) in the hospital:
Always:
- At least 6 months of data submission from an ICU registered with ITS-KISS per calendar year for all required elements of infection surveillance (monthly data and reporting of nosocomial infections, additional elements if applicable).
- Timely submission of data by February 15 of the following year.
- One-time participation of a hospital representative in the KISS introductory course (a prerequisite for participation in infection surveillance).
And at least two of the following requirements:
- Participation of a hospital representative in the KISS experience exchange at least every two years.
- Participation in validations with case studies within the specified timeframe.
- Response to inquiries regarding structural and process quality or validity within the specified timeframe.
Requirements not offered by KISS (e.g., no inquiries sent) are considered fulfilled.
Pathogen Surveillance
Minimum requirements to be met by at least one ICU in the hospital:
Always:
- At least 6 months of data submission from an ICU registered with ITS-KISS per calendar year for all elements required for surveillance (monthly data and reporting of pathogens, additional elements if applicable).
- Timely submission of data by February 15 of the following year.
- Completion of the annual short survey within the module (questions on screening, etc.).
- One-time participation of a hospital representative in the KISS introductory course (a prerequisite for participation in pathogen surveillance).
And at least one of the following requirements:
- Response to inquiries regarding structural and process quality or validity within the specified timeframe.
- Participation of a hospital representative in the KISS experience exchange at least every two years.
Requirements not offered by KISS (e.g., no inquiries sent) are considered fulfilled.
